We do many “experiments” in our kitchen… mostly edible and successful, but yes, I am only human after all so sometimes I do end up with a #nailedit moment! For the most part, at our house we strive for a clean-eating plan. I tend to go for high protein and produce, with limited carbs and dairy when needed. Of course, we also love our chocolate and sweets, and occasionally we want those delicious treats too! In my cooking endeavors I’ve had so many copycat recipe #fails I could blog about them forever, but I’ve also found a few diamonds in the rough that we have grown to love. I’ll share many of our faves on here, as well as any tips and tricks, gadgets, and fun we have along the way for you to check out as you wish. Cheers to all my fellow foodies out there!

Let’s just be real for a moment. Yes, I am a foodie. I’m just going to put that out there… I love it! Food is amazing. The texture, the flavor, the smells… it’s all enough to make a glutton out of just about anyone! In this diet-crazed and instant-satisfaction world we live in now, sometimes it’s hard to find what works. We are always looking for foods that fit our lifestyle and taste, or waiting for the time and/or money to make it happen. We try out the “healthy option” or the best diets and exercises, and sometimes fall right back into the arms of those comforting foods we’ve always loved. We tell ourselves we need to do better, but only wish we could, and never do. Well, I hate to break it to you, but we each have one life to live. JUST ONE. It’s up to you to figure out what you want to do with it, and how you want to enjoy it. Is it worth it to just wish things were different, or is it better to just make it happen however you can make it happen? Sometimes we there are things we just can not do and we have no choice, but that’s where alternatives come in. Find something that still gives you that blissful moment, just maybe a different way! Balance is important. Health is important. Your body needs all the TLC it can get, and sometimes those flavorful and tasty rewards are just what you need once in a while. Don’t go overboard, by any means, please! You still need to take care of yourself. But I like to live a little. I mean, it won’t always be perfect or exactly how you pictured, like maybe you’ll be a little smaller or bigger than you wish you were, etc. Yes, there are some MAJOR fails (…*ahem* missing the cocoa in the brownies…) but then there are times the brownies just come out a little flat and they still taste good! Am I right?
