I love my bagels, especially fresh from a bagel shop. Recently we moved a lot further away from our favorite places, and I find myself really missing those lately. Since I can’t get what I really want right now, I decided to figure out how to make some at home because those grocery store bagels just aren’t working out for me, you know?
I found a few different recipes and kept running into how to make them in the air fryer. Well, lately I’m using that thing like my life depends on it right now, so I figured why not? I am so glad I did! Breakfast was a success, and I even felt good about the ingredients! This is not my recipe, but most of the ones I found were basically the same one over and over, so whoever came up with this combination of simple goodness has my vote for deliciousness!
Homemade Bagels
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour, plus a little extra for dusting the work area
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups plain Greek yogurt
1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
- Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt) in a bowl. Whisk together.
- Stir in Greek yogurt with a scraper or spatula until combined. Form dough into a ball and place on flour-dusted work area.
- Divide the dough in half, then divide each half a few more times until you have 8 equal parts. Roll each part about 8 inches or so to your desired thickness, then pinch together. Brush with a beaten egg and top with desired toppings.
- At 350 degrees, air fry bagels about 10 to 12 minutes or until toasty golden brown, then cool 5 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
